Welcome back to my Stress-free planning blog – Lets talk Marquees. In the next few weeks we’ll chat about lots of possibilities to make your day totally unique and so special. There are lots of wedding blogs out there with brilliant ideas you can adapt to any venue choice. I get lots of questions about our Woodland Wedding Venue so I thought I would keep my blog specific to our farm wedding venue. Hopefully you will still enjoy reading my blog even if you have your venue booked elsewhere.
So lets talk marquees. If you follow us on Facebook and Instagram and also our website you will be familiar with our magical Woodland Wedding Cathedral, our outdoor dining area nestled in our woodland canopy and rustic wedding barn. I will feature all three in the coming weeks. With lots of tips of how to make the most of each space and decorating tips and tricks. We also have another option for you. A marquee in our field which has breathtaking views down to the Moray Firth.
Breathtaking view to the Moray Firth
You could choose to have your entire wedding, ceremony, reception and dance entirely in a marquee, maybe with clear sides to make the most of the views or use a marquee as an additional space for your guests to have a separate quieter area to chat away from the DJ? Lots of choices!
Last year we hosted a lovely family orientated wedding. The happy couple fell in love with the breathtaking sea views. They very much wanted the whole family to have a fantastic time. The very young and not so young alike. With this in mind they chose to have a marquee provided by Ezule Tents, Events and Marquees. Ezule Tents, Events and Marquees offer mini-marquees for all events, from BBQs and garden parties to intimate location weddings up to 100 people. Venue furnishings and decoration, alongside lighting and DJ sound systems also available.

The marquee had a solid wooden floor and was left open on one side to make the most of the sea view. They hired a bouncy castle, provided toys and had caterers set up providing coffee and desert close by. They chose to have their wedding ceremony in our wedding barn and had their reception indoors too. They made the most of all spaces. A wonderful day to remember. We were thrilled to be invited as guests to share their special day.
Marquee positioned to make the most of our stunning sea views
Perhaps you’re thinking of something a bit bigger to accommodate all your guests? Possibly having your ceremony and reception in a marquee? Aurora Events – Sailcloth Marquees could be just what you’re looking for! Aurora Events is Aberdeenshires’ only supplier of the Aurora Sailcloth Marquee. They are a small family run business with the sole focus of providing affordable luxury marquees to the North East of Scotland. They have a range of tents in various sizes, from the Petitie tent which is 6m x 8m seating up to 30 guests, the Aurora Mini 14m x 14m which seats up to 80 guests, right up to the Aurora Maxi 14m x 26m seating up to 250 max.
Fantastic clear sides to make the most of the view
Their Sailcloth Tent has a sheer roof meaning the tent will be flooded with natural light during the day whilst radiating light into the sky at night. Unlike a canvas material roof the tent will be bright even on a dull day. With the tent standing at 22ft tall at its highest point there is a lovely feeling of space inside. The full length window walls will make the most of the breathtaking sea views and will let light pour in which your photographer will love.
Perfect for taking in the breathtaking view to the Moray Firth
Maybe a particular consideration with the current pandemic crisis, the window walls can be rolled up so that you can have a totally outdoors wedding but with the Sailcloth Marquee offering protection from the elements and a place to set up for your wedding breakfast and dance. So many options you will be spoilt for choice. Check out their Facebook page and website using the links.
Send us a private message or email if you would like further details of our packages and to arrange a private viewing. Until next time …
