Birkenhill Farm is a working rare breed sheep farm, forestry enterprise producing firewood for sale direct to the customer from our own forest, mobile sawmill and Training Centre offering Sit-Astride ATV training, Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting, Tractor Driving and Woodchipper courses. All our courses are Approved and Accredited by Lantra.
Here at Birkenhill Farm we sustainably manage our forest and produce naturally dried and seasoned softwood firewood from our forest to your fire. Our logs are seasoned and guaranteed below 20% moisture content and sold in convenient, easy to handle net bags. Whether you’re looking for logs for your cosy fire in winter or for your summer BBQ or fire pit we can help!
Our mobile sawmill can come to you and set up around felled tree(s) and mill timber on the spot. No need to waste those beautiful Oaks etc when they could be used by furniture makers.
Our Sit-Astride All Terrain Vehicle training is designed for both new users and refreshers. Our courses are accredited and certified by Lantra and are delivered either at our farm or we can come out to you.
As a working sheep farm we specialize in rare breeds. Our flocks consist of mainly Jacobs and Soay together with Suffolks and Herdwicks. We have beautiful raw fleeces for sale. Message for details.
